Her plays have been produced by Dixon Place, INTAR Theatre, Pregones Theater, Cornell University, and University of Santa Cruz. Her highly praised work, Becoming Joaquin, examines a transgender Latino and his family who struggle to accept his identity. Janis' work is published in six anthologies, including Puro Teatro and Action: The Nuyorican Poets Café Theater Festival.
